Local fans of Hong Kong actor Ron Ng (吴卓羲) are currently overjoyed as the actor is not only here in Malaysia, he’s been very available to all his fans! Since his arrival, he’s been actively greeting his fans and taking photos with them when discovered in public.
Ron Ng has clearly gone all out to make his fans happy, as seen by the wide smiles in photos. However, one of his attempts fell flat when he was seemingly snubbed by a fan after he reached out to shake her hand!
The Hong Kong actor is currently in Malaysia to promote his movie “Deliverance (源生罪)”. Still, he hasn’t shied away from meeting his fans regardless of where he is, much to their delight. Reportedly, he’s been very friendly and approachable, always greeting people with a smile and welcoming to fans who wish to take photos with him.
Unfortunately, during the premiere of “Deliverance” at Mega Cineplex, one fan ended up snubbing Ron Ng shortly after taking a group photo together in front of the movie’s standee display. After taking a few shots, the group moved to leave, however Ron stuck out his hand to shake the female fan’s hand. To everyone’s surprise, she missed the handshake as she looked away and quickly left.
Netizens have since been laughing at the look of disbelief on Ron’s face as she walked away. A few have since expressed sympathy for Ron, saying the fan should have looked back to thank him. Others claimed they shared the heartbreak, both over Ron being snubbed, and the fan for missing the opportunity.
The fan herself has since uploaded the video to Xiao Hong Shu (小红书), apologising for the incident. “Because I couldn’t take my time (as there were others) queuing up to take photos (with him), I was very nervous and left hurriedly after taking the photo,” she explained. “I didn’t even notice that Ron Ng wanted to shake hands with me.”
Apparently, she had only known about it after she watched the video herself. She also added that the staff had told her “there should be no physical contact“, hence she had not been expecting the handshake. “Do you think I would have just left if I knew I could shake his hand?” she asked. “I really want myself to wake up. Give me one more chance, and I will definitely look at you this time.”
Well, we hope the fan gets a chance to rectify her mistake. It must have been embarrassing and painful to discover that you missed your idol wanting to shake hands with you. Incident aside, we sincerely hope Ron Ng is enjoying his time here in Malaysia and knows his fans still love him!
