Concert cancellations aren’t uncommon, but fans are typically given a few days or even weeks’ notice about the cancellation. Sadly, fans of Air Supply had to learn about the band’s cancelled concert on the day of the show.
The Australian rock duo was scheduled to perform their 50th Anniversary Celebration concert at SBC Hall in Kuching, Sarawak, on 24th September 2025 (Wednesday). However, on the morning of the concert, Air Supply announced through social media that the concert was cancelled due to operational reasons on the part of the promoter. The band apologised for the matter and said they’re looking to reschedule the concert.
The cancellation comes after the band successfully concluded a show in Kuala Lumpur the night before (Tuesday, 23rd September 2025). The band is also performing in Jakarta tomorrow night (Friday, 26th September 2025). Twig Events, the local organiser of the Kuching show, has issued a notice about the cancellation, saying they will issue full refunds to all ticketholders.
At the same time, Twig Events also expressed shock at the sudden cancellation, revealing that they also learnt of the last-minute development through the social post. The event organiser also reiterated that they completed all preparations on their part and that all direct coordination with the artist’s management was handled by the concert promoter, Galaxy World Entertainment. In the statement, Twig Events also shared that it will hold a press conference on the issue soon.
Meanwhile, fans have shared their reactions to the news, mostly angered over the last-minute notice. Some ticketholders revealed that they had flown to Kuching for the show, only to learn about the cancellation. Others demanded a clear explanation from the concert promoter over the issue. However, a few fans have also expressed gratitude towards Twig Events for their prompt response to the matter and refund process.
