Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel & Convention Centre recently hosted an exclusive Coffee Date activation at R Bar on 30th September 2025, as part of Marriott Bonvoy’s Brew with Benefits campaign. The afternoon brought together media guests and partners for an experience that combined coffee culture, creativity, and community engagement.
The Coffee Date highlighted Marriott International’s commitment to creating experiential hospitality moments that go beyond the ordinary. The event featured a special preview of R Bar’s Pink-tober Afternoon Tea Set, crafted in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October.
Held in collaboration with local artisan coffee partner Hetam, the Coffee Date invited guests to explore unique zero-proof creations inspired by Malaysian heritage. Among the highlights were Gemilang, a vibrant tribute to the Jalur Gemilang and Seri Muka/Puteri, a comforting drink that reimagines the flavors of a traditional dessert.
For non-coffee drinkers, the afternoon also featured the Bandung Padan Spritz, an award-winning mocktail created by a Renaissance Kuala Lumpur mixologist, which was recently named the official signature mocktail for Visit Malaysia 2026.
Guests also participated in a hands-on coffee mocktail workshop led by Hetam’s baristas, learning how to craft their own signature drinks. Adding an artistic element to the event, coffee portrait artist Vivian Lees created live caricatures using coffee as her medium, giving guests a personalised keepsake to take home.
The event atmosphere was complemented by curated music from homegrown DJ Vikna, creating a cosy and engaging ambience that reflected the campaign’s goal of blending creativity with community.
Through the Brew with Benefits initiative, Marriott Bonvoy members can earn points while enjoying complimentary treats. From now until 31st December 2025, members will receive a complimentary house-made jumbo cookie with any coffee or tea purchase at participating outlets.
As part of the event, Renaissance Kuala Lumpur also introduced it’s Pink-tober Afternoon Tea Set, presented in delicate shades of pink to symbolise strength, resilience, and remembrance. The tea set features a tiered selection of savoury and sweet delicacies, available daily at R Bar from 7th October to 31st October 2025.
