#RayaniAir: Airline Company Apologises For Not Being Able To Provide Customer Refunds

Oh no, things are not looking good at all for Rayani Air.

The troubled airline – which operated as Malaysia’s first Syariah-compliant airline for a couple of months – took to Facebook on Tuesday (12th July) to apologise for its inability to provide refunds to customers who had previously booked tickets.

“Dear customers, we apologise that we are still unable to make refunds on flight tickets despite our best efforts. The withdrawal of our Air Service Licence (ASL) and ASP (air service permit) were made while we were finalising investments in this airline. With the withdrawal of these licences, no investor will cooperate with us,” Rayani Air said in a statement.

“With the withdrawal of licences, the investors who had committed to supplying funds on 30th June to resolve the refund issue has withdrawn from their commitment,” the company explained.

Despite the revocation of its flying licences, Rayani Air is hoping for a 2nd chance from the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) and The Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom). “We hope that our customers will be patient with us and do not visit the (RayaniAir) office as it is currently closed and will be closed for the near future,” it added.

This announcement didn’t sit well with many people including Facebook user Khairy Zaulkifli. “How can you expect customers to accept such statement? Your apology is not accepted. It has already caused much damage, especially when people have paid for the ticket but boarded. The least your company can do, is try to liaise with other airlines; pass your passengers to them and make a deal,” he commented.

The airline will make its next official announcement once it receives some positive news.
