#RapidKL: Commuters Required To Change MyRapid Card To New MyRapid TnG Card

Heads up all you commuters out there: To those using MyRapid card, you are now required to change to a new MyRapid TnG card.

Rapid KL explained that the change is to coincide with their new ticketing system – which has been upgraded to the Touch ‘N Go platform. In addition to LRT, Monorail, and bus services, the new MyRapid TnG card will enable passengers access to MRT as well.

As stated on their Facebook page, it is compulsory to migrate the card as the old card will no longer be valid starting from 16th July onwards. The MyRapid migration exercise begins next Thursday (15th June) up till 15th July.

The 1 on 1 card exchange can be done at all Rapid KL Customer Service Counters at LRT, Monorail and BRT stations, with the exception of Abdullah Hukum LRT Station. Do note that the migration exercise only takes place from 6:30 am – 2.00 pm and 3:30 pm to 10:30 pm.

With the new MyRapid TnG card, you can reload it at most Rapid KL Customer Service Counters or any location that offers the reload facilities, including the Touch ‘N Go Hubs and Self Service Kiosks.

And yes, that means you will now be subjected to a RM0.50 reload fee. From 16th July onwards, the Ticket Vending Machine (TVM) can only be used to buy token. To avoid long queues, commuters are encourage to reload at the other aforementioned venues.

In case you’re wondering, MyRapid Concession cardholders (Student/ Senior Citizen/ OKU) are also required to switch their current cards to the new MyRapid TnG Concession card. Don’t worry, Rapid KL has ensure that those who migrate will receive their new card on the same day upon exchange.
