As stated on their Facebook page, it is compulsory to migrate the card as the old card will no longer be valid starting from 16th July onwards. The MyRapid migration exercise begins next Thursday (15th June) up till 15th July.

The 1 on 1 card exchange can be done at all Rapid KL Customer Service Counters at LRT, Monorail and BRT stations, with the exception of Abdullah Hukum LRT Station. Do note that the migration exercise only takes place from 6:30 am – 2.00 pm and 3:30 pm to 10:30 pm.

And yes, that means you will now be subjected to a RM0.50 reload fee. From 16th July onwards, the Ticket Vending Machine (TVM) can only be used to buy token. To avoid long queues, commuters are encourage to reload at the other aforementioned venues.
