For starters, Jaekyung debuted as a member of Rainbow in 2009. While the group enjoyed immense success in the K-pop scene, the group members went their separate ways in 2016. The former idol has since gone on to pursue a solo career, appearing on several entertainment projects. In addition, the 32-year-old was also known for her sexy physique.
While Jaekyung has been in the industry for over a decade, many netizens pointed out how her career could have been different if she had debuted in today’s K-pop landscape. The netizen who uploaded the original post argued, “Seriously, she should’ve debuted in a fourth-generation girl group. She was ahead of her time. If she was an idol from this generation, she would’ve been on the same list alongside Jang Wonyoung, Karina and Sullyoon.”
Fans couldn’t agree more with the netizen’s point. Some even compared the popularity of the “Sweet Dream” singer to the current idols. “I’m so shocked. There are still some people who don’t know who Jaekyung is LOL. Jaekyung was the face of Rainbow, almost on Karina’s level,” one netizen wrote in the comments. Another added, “I always thought she was drop-dead gorgeous.”
