110,000 Proton Inspira sedans and Exora CPS 1.6 MPVs are being recalled in a bid to fix existing or potential flaws in the aforementioned cars, Proton Holdings Berhad said in a statement yesterday (23rd May).
On 18th February, Mitsubishi Motors Japan issued a global recall of selected models, including the Mitsubishi Lancer, for defective right-turn indicator switches. The Inspira is being recalled as it is a rebadged version of the Mitsubishi Lancer while the Exora CPS 1.6 MPV was recalled by Proton to check the powertrain fuel line.
A total of 20,330 units of Inspira, manufactured from 2010 to 2014, and some 90,000 units of the Exora CPS 1.6 MPV, manufactured within the period of 2009 to 2015, will be affected.
In the statement, Proton said that the recall is a precautionary measure, and they will notify affected owners. The owners should then make an appointment with their preferred service outlet for an inspection.
All costs of labour and parts relating to the rectification work will be borne by Proton.
In February, Proton recalled some 100,000 units of its Exora, Preve, and Suprima models to fix the CFE oil cooler hose.
