There’s no such thing as an easy job as every job has its own set of challenges. Whether you’re a CEO, a lawyer, a famous actor or a retail worker, one must never look down on someone else’s position. A job doesn’t necessarily define someone. Sometimes people have to make do with what they have and that’s okay.

TikTok user Siti Nurul Atiqah Nawawi, who goes by the username @02dec92 posted a series of videos on her profile responding to comments by netizens who belittled her for having a job as a security guard. In the first video, she responded to a comment that said she has no qualifications to apply for a ‘better job’. “Those with PHDs aren’t even guaranteed to secure a job. Show yourself if you’re man enough”, she captioned.
In her second post, she revealed that certain jobs do not require certifications but experience. She shared that those who have applied for jobs as security guards have their own education qualifications but the certifications do not necessarily guarantee them to land the position.
The Kelantanese woman posted a third video responding to a comment that said being a security guard is easy as they’d get to laze around all day looking at their phones. “You’re right, our job is to just here and play games on our phone,” she sarcastically answered. Thankfully, most comments were very supportive of her. One netizen even tried flirting by saying she was too pretty to be a security guard and that he should guard her instead.

Siti spoke to mStar and shared her story before she became a security guard. After her divorce, she once went to KL in search for work and was offered a job as a cleaner. She declined the offer and went back to her hometown where she accepted the job opportunity as a security guard at a hospital as it offers better payment.
It’s good to see that she’s using the negativity she received to motivate herself in becoming the best at her job. Not everyone has the courage and strength to do what she does. May she continue to do well in both her work and in life.
