Pikotaro (real name Daimaou Kosaka), the man behind the 2016 viral earworm “Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen” (PPAP), officially became a dad earlier this week.
He and his 30-year-old swimsuit model wife Hitomi Yasueda welcomed their newborn daughter on Father’s Day (17th June). Turns out, the 44-year-old artist has some handy skills on how to calm a crying infant.

“Today is Father’s Day, which is an often overlooked occasion compared to Mother’s Day. But my daughter has given me the world’s best present,” reads his caption on Twitter as translated by Asia One.
It’s a common struggle for new parents when it comes to dealing with a crying tiny tot. But the Japanese comedian may have figure out a hack for newly-minted parents (like himself) on calming newborn babies. His trick? Press play on his viral hit song, “PPAP”. Even Pikotaro himself seemed surprised by his baby girl’s response.
