This year, the recruitment process began yesterday (24th June 2025, Tuesday), with hundreds of interview participants gathering at TVB City in Hong Kong for the first round of interviews. The interview will screen the ladies on background, education, and online presence. As shown in photos, most contestants dressed casually, with many opting for short dresses that show off their figures.
Online, the reaction to the first batch of hopefuls has been lukewarm. However, there were a few potential contestants that caught media attention. One of whom is 26-year-old Vivian, a student at the Central Academy of Drama. During the interview, she showed up in a dress with a plunging neckline, which highlighted her cleavage. Netizens also noted her striking features, including the mole on her chin.
Another noteworthy contestant is 23-year-old Emily Tsoi, who went to the interviews accompanied by her father, a former TVB employee. According to reports, Emily recently graduated from a British university with a degree in dance. She also has some experience in the entertainment industry, given her history as a child star. Photos of her past showed her working alongside renowned stars like Wong Cho-lam and South Korean actress Lee Young-Ae.
However, the most shocking participant had to be 24-year-old Angel Chong, who happens to be Hong Kong’s youngest district councillor. Her appearance at the Miss HK 2025 interviews sparked mixed reactions, with some wondering if her decision to compete goes against her public duties. Angel has responded to the comments, assuring she’ll do her best to balance her work as a councillor with her pageant aspirations.
