We are barely a week into June 2023, and yet, we have been blessed with delightful news from celebrities and public figures from around the world. First, we had local influencers Chen and Faye getting married, then HK couple Benjamin and Bowie welcoming their first child.
Yesterday (5th June 2023), well-loved Thai couple Nadech Kugimiya (ณเดชน์ คูกิมิยะ) and Urassaya Sperbund (อุรัสยา เสปอร์บันด์) aka Yaya announced their long-awaited news on their Instagram. After being in a stable relationship for almost 12 years, the two are finally engaged!
Thai actress Yaya posted a set of romantic and adorable pictures on her Instagram yesterday while captioning them, “We decided on forever.” She then went on to describe what had happened during the proposal. “Actually I said AHHHH and then YES!”
In the post, actor Nadech commented that he felt like the luckiest man alive to have Yaya as part of his life. “A new journey begins and I’m super excited. You (Yaya) are my soul, my laugh, my tears and my air. And thank you for saying ‘YES’.”
From the photos, one can see that the lovebirds are truly in love each other. The two of them are seen unable to hide their smiles while the photos were taken. Netizens were overjoyed when they announced their engagement and flooded the newly engaged couple’s comment section with nothing but congratulations and support.
After their first collaboration in 2010, Nadech and Yaya had been rumoured to be dating. The two have worked on 7 dramas and a movie together since. Selected as the best on-screen couple multiple times, they were even given the title ‘Nation’s Couple’ by the people.
Even though the couple have undeniable chemistry since their first meeting, Nadech revealed that they were not together yet when they starred in their first drama, “Akkanee’s Heart (Duang Jai Akkanee).” At that time, the handsome actor apparently had a one-sided crush on his now-fiancée. Although the actor was able to get his sweetheart’s number, he was too scared to reach out to her at the start. It wasn’t until Yaya wished him ‘Happy Birthday’ on his special day did their love blossom.
Guess the title ‘Nation’s Couple’ will soon change to be the ‘Nation’s Married Couple”. We’re so happy for the the lovely couple! Congratulations Nadech and Yaya! We wish you nothing but happiness in this new chapter of your life together!
