In case you missed it, the Penang History Gallery has officially opened its doors to the public. This one-of-a-kind immersive museum transports visitors through the vibrant history of Penang, spanning from 1786 to 1957. From ancient streets to traditional homes, the museum brings to life the stories of early immigrants and the period of British colonial rule, offering a vivid glimpse into the daily lives of Penang’s past residents.


Imagine strolling through the classic lanes of George Town, witnessing the bustling atmosphere of Swettenham Pier during its golden era, and exploring old shops that were once formed by the local community. Every historical element is brought back to life with impressive detail — from vintage barbershops and old-school grocery stores, to traditional wooden clog shops and nostalgic coffee houses with 100% retro vibes.
Spanning two floors, the gallery features 37 unique historical themes, each brought to life with costumed mannequins, vintage props, era-specific décor, old photographs, and newspaper clippings. Here are the details of the museum:

- Malaysian citizens: Adults: RM35, Children (aged 5 -12) & senior citizens (60 years old & above): RM25, Children younger than 4 years old can walk in for free.
- Non-Malaysian citizens: Adults: RM55, Children (aged 5 -12) & senior citizens (60 years old and above): RM45, Children younger than 4 years old can walk in for free.
