For those unaware, 21st August 2024 (Wednesday) marked the 18th wedding anniversary of Malaysia’s beloved songstress Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza with her husband Dato’ Sri Khalid Mohamad Jiwa, a.k.a Dato K. The wedding, which took place in 2006, was dubbed the wedding of the year – and almost two decades later, fans are still in awe of the magical event and Siti’s timeless beauty.
A Twitter account shared several photos from the memorable day in celebration of the couple’s wedding anniversary. The thread’s caption wrote, “18 years ago today, Siti Nurhaliza & Dato’ K held one of the most famous wedding ceremonies in Malaysia, that was broadcasted nationwide.” The photos posted were from the couple’s wedding ceremony at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) on 28th August 2006. The wedding’s broadcast reportedly achieved a viewership of over 6 million viewers.
Besides local coverage, several international media outlets also covered the wedding, including Reuters and The Associated Press (AP). As for guests, those who attended the grand reception included members of the royal family, politicians and celebrities, including singer Krisdayanti, who also performed. The couple had another ceremony in Kuala Lipis, Pahang, on 3rd September 2006, which was attended by over 10,000 guests.
Along with showing how grand the ceremony was, the photos also demonstrated Siti Nurhaliza’s beauty. During the event, the singer donned several wedding dresses, accompanied by dazzling accessories. Many fans have reacted to the photos, mostly in awe over the powerhouse vocalist’s visuals. Some noted that despite the wedding taking place more than ten years ago, Siti’s makeup appears timeless. Many equated her visuals from the event to that of a doll or a princess.

Local television host Fedtri Yahya shared a video of the solemnization ceremony on his TikTok account. Fedtri hosted the wedding’s live broadcast alongside fellow television host Azizah Ariffin and said it was a very valuable experience.
