It’s only been a little over a year since Hong Kong actress Nancy Wu (胡定欣) admitted to being in a relationship with a doctor. However, earlier today (Monday, 6th October 2025), the star announced that she and her partner had tied the knot!
On 6th October 2025, Nancy took to Instagram to announce her marriage to surgical doctor Akin Chan (陈健华). According to the posts, the couple tied the knot on 3rd October 2025 (Friday). The actress also shared photos from the ceremony, which show the couple posing together in their wedding outfits and cutting their wedding cake.
Nancy first confirmed her relationship with Akin in November 2024, but at the time still kept his identity a secret. It wasn’t until February 2025 that the actress went Instagram-official with her relationship, sharing a photo of the two during a ski trip. While the couple would continue to keep things lowkey, they have been spotted in public several times going on dates.
According to reports, Akin is a surgeon who graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He’s also part of Doctors Without Borders and has performed surgeries in war zones, like Syria and South Sudan. He and Nancy allegedly met after being introduced by their mutual friend, actor Tony Hung.
Fans and friends have since congratulated Nancy and Akin on their marriage, wishing them a lifetime of happiness. Among the stars who commented on Nancy’s Instagram posts were actress Elaine Yiu and actor Joel Chan. Those close to Nancy are especially happy for the actress, noting her long period of being single before meeting her now-husband.
