The hunt for the next Miss Hong Kong continues with the second round of interviews! If you haven’t heard, the 2024 edition of the Miss Hong Kong Pageant (香港小姐競選) officially kicked off last month with the first round of interviews revealing the faces of the first batch of contestants.
The first round of interviews for the next Miss Hong Kong took place in mid-June, with over 100 contestants going through multiple evaluations on their background, education, online presence and more. Unfortunately, some contestants couldn’t appear for the first round of interviews for various reasons, so TVB held another round of preliminary interviews to assess the rest of the contestants.
Earlier today (2nd July, Tuesday), many Hong Kong media outlets headed to the TV headquarters to meet the second batch of contestants. Over 50 girls aged 17 to 27 arrived from different parts of the world, including Canada and Germany. In addition to sharing photos of the contestants, media outlets have also released details about them, including their age and background – but as usual, the attention is on their appearance.
Previously, many Miss Hong Kong 2024 hopefuls received criticism for their looks, with netizens claiming they looked bland and unimpressive. While some complained that the girls didn’t dress well for the interview, others argued that they were just “victims’ of awkward photos shared by media outlets. It’s unsure whether those comments affected the second round of contestants and their interview prep. However, some media outlets, including HK01, said that the new batch of hopefuls showed more potential appearance-wise.
