As Deepavali draws near, Malaysia once again comes alive with radiant lights, intricate kolams, and vibrant cultural performances that capture the essence of the Festival of Lights. Every year, malls across the Klang Valley transform into festive wonderlands, each with its own unique interpretation of Indian heritage, artistry, and joy.

Whether you’re celebrating the festival or simply soaking in the sights, these stunning decorations promise to brighten your spirit and make your shopping trips even more memorable. Here’s a round-up of some of the most spectacular Deepavali displays lighting up the Klang Valley this year.

1. Pavilion Kuala Lumpur

Pavilion REIT Malls invites Malaysians to immerse themselves in the radiant beauty of Deepavali through a month-long celebration across Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Pavilion Bukit Jalil, and Intermark Mall. Running until 26th October 2025, the Diya Deepavali campaign pays homage to the symbolic diya, the flame that represents hope, prosperity, and unity.

The highlight at Pavilion KL is its mesmerising Mughal Princess kolam at the Main Entrance, an intricate work of art that celebrates traditional craftsmanship and cultural heritage. The festivities began with a grand lighting ceremony and a dazzling Indian Cultural Extravaganza by Anhad Studio, performing in Malaysia for the first time in 15 years. Expect a feast for the eyes and soul as music, dance, and artistry come together in celebration.

2. The Curve

At The Curve, the Centre Court has been transformed into a radiant celebration of colour and light under the theme “Luminous Deepavali: Blessings in Every Bloom, Light in Every Corner.” Running from 3rd to 20th October 2025, this year’s decorations capture the joy, unity, and renewal that define the festival.

Visitors can enjoy cultural showcases such as Bharatanatyam, Kathakali, and Odissi dances, alongside interactive activities like rangoli-making, saree-draping, and laddu-making workshops. Shoppers can also take part in the Deepavali Word Search Wall challenge for a chance to win vouchers. Just find a word, snap a photo, and tag The Curve on social media.

3. The Exchange TRX

At The Exchange TRX, Deepavali takes on a contemporary twist through The Art of Radiance, a celebration that beautifully blends cultural artistry with modern lifestyle. Expect a line-up of vibrant performances, hands-on cultural workshops, and exclusive brand experiences designed to elevate your festive shopping.

As you step inside, you’ll be welcomed by intricate kolam patterns, lively festive beats, and a warm, golden glow that fills the mall with joy. Every corner feels photo-ready, making it the perfect place to capture your Deepavali moments. Whether you’re there to shop, dine, or simply soak up the festive ambience, The Exchange TRX offers a radiant experience that truly embodies the spirit of the Festival of Lights.

4. Fahrenheit88

Fahrenheit88’s Trail of Colours campaign brings a creative and meaningful twist to Deepavali décor. In collaboration with WWF Malaysia, the mall features the Elephant Art Trail, a series of artistic elephant sculptures designed by students from INTI, Raffles KL, UCSI, and TAR UMT.

Beyond its vibrant hues and festive cheer, the campaign carries a conservation message and helps raise awareness and support for the Save Our Elephants initiative. It’s a wonderful example of how art, culture, and compassion can come together to celebrate the festival of light and life.

5. The Gardens Mall

The Gardens Mall celebrates Deepavali from 8th to 26th October 2025 with a stunning showcase inspired by classic Indian architecture and dance. Its exquisite kolam draws inspiration from the ornate details of Mughal domes, arches, and sacred spaces, blending beauty with cultural symbolism.

Visitors can look forward to live performances that bring these inspirations to life, from Bharatanatyam and Odissi dances to Rajasthan’s lively Thandiyaras. There are also hands-on workshops where shoppers can paint mud lamps or create clay trinkets with a minimum spend of RM50. Don’t miss the traditional sculptor demonstrations for a closer look at the skill and precision behind India’s timeless art forms.

6. Pavilion Bukit Jalil

From 9th to 20th October 2025, Pavilion Bukit Jalil welcomes visitors to its Rangoli Deepavali – Together, Here celebration, featuring a magnificent giant peacock installation surrounded by florals at multiple entrances. The stunning decorations are the work of talented students from City University Malaysia, reflecting both creativity and collaboration. To complete the festive experience, a Deepavali Market awaits at the Centre Court, where shoppers can explore traditional treats, crafts, and gifts, perfect for those looking to bring a piece of the celebration home.

7. IOI City Mall

IOI City Mall’s Luminous Legacy Deepavali decoration is nothing short of breathtaking. Its centrepiece, a grand elephant surrounded by vibrant florals and intricate kolam designs, creates a setting that feels like stepping into a dreamy park. The display perfectly captures the festival’s sense of majesty, harmony, and joy.

8. Berjaya Times Square

Berjaya Times Square’s Deepavali décor this year centres around two majestic peacocks, their colourful tails transformed into a floral-adorned photo bench. The setup makes for an elegant photo opportunity, combining nature’s beauty with artistic craftsmanship. It’s a must-visit for those seeking the perfect festive snapshot.
