Late last year, Malaysian star Ah Niu (阿牛) surprised the public after rumours surfaced that he had secretly remarried. While the 48-year-old never directly confirmed the news, it appears he’s becoming more open with his relationship.
Recently, news outlets reported that the actor, whose real name is Tan Kheng Seong (陈庆祥), held a public “wedding” with his wife, Rachel Ten (鄧麗君). The couple were at the Fo Guang Shan Dong Zen Temple (佛光山东禅寺) to attend an event when the Ah Niu decided to hold the impromptu ceremony, which took his wife by surprise. The temple’s head monk presided over the unplanned wedding.

Netizens who attended the event and got the chance to witness the wedding shared photos of the ceremony on social media. Given the sudden nature of the event, it’s understandable that the pair didn’t dress in traditional wedding garments. Funnily, some noted that Ah Niu’s wife was visibly shocked when the “Blooms Of Happiness (新年奇迹号)” star suggested they hold a wedding ceremony in front of the event guests.
Ah Niu and Rachel have been married for many years, but the exact date of their marriage remains undisclosed. However, after registering their marriage, the couple only held a lowkey ceremony for their close family and friends. This event marks their first public wedding ceremony. The pair also expressed gratitude towards the monk, the temple, and the guests for witnessing their wedding and blessing their marriage.

Before marrying Rachel, Ah Niu was married to a Taiwanese woman, but they divorced sometime in 2010. The pair also had a daughter, who is now in her 20s. Since Ah Niu is known to remain quiet about his love life, it’s a pleasant surprise to see him hold a public wedding ceremony. We wish him and Rachel all the best in their relationship.
