Last October, local singer Firdhaus Farmizi (菲道尔) faced backlash after he allegedly cheated on his then-girlfriend, fellow local singer Diorlying Tan (DIOR大穎), causing them to break up. However, rumours have surfaced that the two may have rekindled their romance.
Recently, a netizen shared an image on social media with the caption, “DIOR DAYING & FIRDHAUS are back together”. The photo appeared to show the two vocalists onboard the same plane. Both were dressed casually, with Diorlying wearing a brown sweater and Firdhaus wearing a black jacket and a cap. Their identities were later confirmed when Diorlying shared a photo of her wearing a similar outfit on her Instagram account.
The post prompted many to suggest that the pair have started seeing each other again after breaking up last year. Netizens also dug up other clues to back their claims, pointing out that Diorlying had recently re-followed Firdhaus on Instagram after unfollowing him after their split. They also pointed out how the two were in Japan during the same time, which was likely when the photo on the plane was taken.
However, the rumours remained unconfirmed, and the two stars may have only rekindled their friendship. Regardless, netizens have voiced their opinions, mostly opposing the relationship. Many have since flocked to Diorlying’s Instagram post, flooding her with questions about her current relationship status with Firdhaus. However, some fans showed support for the two, wishing them all the best in whatever decision they make.
Despite the sensational split, it’s worth noting that Diorlying had previously defended Firdhaus after the latter received backlash from netizens for “emotional cheating”. Through a now-expired Instagram Stories post, she has also alluded to having forgiven her ex and has moved on from the incident. The two also appeared to be on good terms while filming for the finale episode of Astro’s “Let’s Go, Big Shots” last December.
