Pythons are non-venomous and most of them pose no threat to humans. With that being said, however, these large reptiles are still the last thing anyone would want to find inside their vehicle or basically anywhere inside of their home.

It’s terrifying enough to spot one just crawling about from inside your home but imagine going about your day at a mall and suddenly seeing a python slithering around inside the ceiling of a restaurant you were dining at. Customers must’ve been horrified after spotting an unexpected visitor that almost fell down from the hole in the ceiling.

User Raven Qiu posted on the Complaint Singapore Facebook page about an incident that happened at a Toast Box outlet at Rail Mall, Singapore during the weekend. While dining at the eatery, a ceiling panel dropped to the ground and revealed a python slithering in the rafters. “Thank goodness nobody was hurt. Everyone moved aside and then this python appeared from the hole in the ceiling,” the netizen wrote.

The photo taken by the Facebook user indeed showed what appears to be a large snake in the gaping hole in the ceiling. According to Mothership, customers were instructed to evacuate the premises at 8:45am and the store was closed for 1.5 hours while waiting for the authorities to handle the snake situation. Unfortunately, it was reported that the python could not be located by the time the snake control team arrived.

Thankfully, no customers were injured during the incident. A Toast Box spokesperson said that they’ve done repairs to the ceiling and the store reopened for business at 10:30am the same day. It was said that Rail Mall’s management has been made aware of the incident and has been working closely with the snake control team to ensure the safety and security of their customers and staff.

We’re glad that everyone was safe and we sure hope that they’ll find the python soon before it causes more trouble for the mall staff and customers.
