Last month, Canadian singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen happily announced that she and her longtime boyfriend, music producer Cole M.G.N, have officially tied the knot. The couple wed in an intimate ceremony at New York City’s famed Chelsea Hotel, with around 100 guests reportedly in attendance.
It seems that marriage isn’t the only thing the newlyweds are celebrating. As it turns out, the two will have a little one joining them soon.
Earlier today (Tuesday, 4th November), Carly Rae Jepsen shared a carousel of photos on her Instagram announcing that she and her husband, Cole, are expecting their first child together. “Oh hi baby ♥️,” she wrote in the captions. In the photos, the couple can be seen sitting and lying in bed in their pyjamas with their hands gently placed on the singer’s baby bump.
Judging by the images, it appears that she is still in the early stages of her pregnancy. The singer actually hinted at her pregnancy when she reflected on wearing a loose wedding dress at the reception. “We knew we were trying to get pregnant, so I also wanted an alternative dress that was much more flowy that I could sub in for the ceremony or just change into for dancing,” she told Vogue.
Not only that, but if you revisit the wedding photos, there appear to be clues of the pregnancy throughout the venue, particularly in the decorations. There was baby blue taffeta behind the altar, baby’s breath in the bride’s hair, and, according to Vogue, the couple’s first dance song was “Baby” by Gal Costa and Caetano Veloso.
Regardless of whether you noticed the hints or not, it’s clear that Carly and Cole are excited to share this amazing news with fans. Many flooded the comments section to congratulate the parents-to-be on this next chapter in their life. We’re looking forward to seeing the little bundle of joy next year.
