New Covid-19 Cases In Petaling Jaya, Kepong & Jalan Sultan Ismail

Covid-19 cases in KL and Selangor are popping up day by day and today (12th October) is no different.

3 Damansara (formerly known as Tropicana City Mall), Fadason Business Centre, and MBSB Bank by Jalan Sultan Ismail has all recorded a Covid-19 case each.

1. 3 Damansara, Petaling Jaya

The mall in Petaling Jaya released a statement that one of its security personnel from the mall’s fire command centre tested positive for the virus. Despite the staff not reporting for duty since 9th October, the mall immediately took action by performing deep cleansing and thorough sanitisation after receiving the news.

The statement also said, “We will conduct another round of deep cleaning and thorough sanitisation of the public areas within the mall and office tower after closing hours tonight.” Employees that had contact with the staff have tested negative but will remain in self-quarantine for 14 days as a precaution.

2. Fadason Business Centre, Kepong

In Kepong, a resident of Fadason Business Centre has also tested positive for Covid-19. The news unearthed after, DAP Kepong Action Team Facebook page, posted a notice from the management of Fadason Business Centre informing one of their block B residents had tested positive for the coronavirus.

“The management has carried out a thorough cleaning at the common areas and arranging for the thorough disinfection/sanitising particularly on the possible affected area,” stated in the notice. Further adding, “In the event you experience any symptoms, please seek medical attention at the nearest hospital immediately.”

3. MBSB Bank, Jalan Sultan Ismail

Elsewhere, MBSB Bank Sdn Bhd based at Kenanga International, Jalan Sultan Ismail has confirmed that one of its non-customer facing staff had tested positive for the virus. The staff is currently being treated after contracting the virus from a family member.

According to The Edge Markets, MBSB said in a statement, “All MBSB Bank employees at Kenanga International have been asked to revert to working from home.” It also said, “MBSB Bank is taking extra precautionary measures, and will be closing its occupied floors and its branch at Kenanga International to facilitate a thorough sanitisation on 12th October, 2020 (today).”

There is a total number of 561 new Covid-19 cases reported in Malaysia yesterday (11th October), followed by two fatalities which brings the death toll to 157.
