Malaysians can be pretty generous, and we like giving out free stuff when possible. However, it can be a bit dejecting when you’re trying to give something away but it ends up going to waste because of greedy people.
Twitter influencer Pedoq recently announced that a follower of his was giving away a free movie ticket to watch the latest “Transformers” movie at Alamanda Putrajaya. Those interested can quickly DM him since the giveaway was on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Soon after the tweet, an unnamed follower messaged the influencer to claim the tickets. However, after sending him the code for the movie tickets, Pedoq shared in a subsequent tweet that the tickets went to waste.
In the tweet, the follower said he had to skip the movie because he couldn’t reach the destination in time. The tweet caption clarified that the movie starts at 2:15 pm but at 2:30 pm, the anonymous follower told the influencer to give the tickets away to anyone in the area.
The tweet then went viral and many users shared their opinion on the selfish and greedy behaviour of the follower. One user urged the influencer to expose the follower or get him to reimburse the original owner of the movie tickets as he had wasted their money. Some even questioned why the follower claimed the tickets if he knew he lived far from the screening location and wouldn’t make it in time.
There were also replies saying the tickets could’ve gone to them since they were in the area. It sucks to see good movie tickets go to waste because of one person’s greediness. Although, not everyone is irresponsible because, in a separate tweet, Pedoq shared that someone got to see the new Spider-Man movie after claiming his free movie ticket.
