You’ll often hear about websites crashing, especially during concert ticket sales, as fans rush to secure their passes. However, it’s rare for streaming websites to crash, and when it does happen, it’s usually due to internal issues.
When was the last time you logged in to Netflix to watch your favourite TV series or films, only for it to suddenly crash? It sounds like an unlikely thing to happen, and rather strange (pun intended), but it did, and it was all because of everyone tuning in for the season premiere of “Stranger Things”. Here’s the breakdown:

The fifth and final season of “Stranger Things” premiered earlier today (Thursday, 27th November), and if you experienced issues logging into Netflix, you weren’t alone. Reports indicate that the streaming site crashed just as the series was set to hit screens. Previously, Netflix had said it would increase bandwidth to prevent disruptions so fans could enjoy “Stranger Things” without issue, but it appears the problem was underestimated, and the service still experienced interruptions.
Thankfully, it didn’t take long for the company to resolve the issue, and the platform returned to normal operation. However, during the outage, fans took to social media to share the error messages that appeared on their screens while trying to watch the popular show. Many expressed disappointment but stated that they expected something like this to happen, given the show’s impact and the large fanbase.

Some fans reported that their Netflix was working fine and they could watch “Stranger Things”, while others said that only the show was affected, and that they could access everything else on their account. It seems the issue impacted users differently. Regardless, fans were still able to enjoy the first part of the finale. What did you think of it so far?
