Controversial rapper Namewee has bagged himself 3 nominations in the prestigious International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema Berlin (Berlinale).
The nominations are for his 2016 short film, “The Game Of Las Vegas (拉屍為家屍好好玩)” and he is the running for an award for the Best Original Screenplay of a Foreign Language Film, Best Short Foreign Language Film, and Best Lead Actor in a Foreign Language Film categories.
“The Game Of Las Vegas” is of the black comedy genre, and tells the story of a gambler, Ah Keong (Namewee), who lost a tremendous amount of money during a night of excessive gambling. He comes home to his wife but intentionally murder her after an argument about his addiction. Backed into a corner, Ah Keong goes on the run with his kid and his wife’s corpse.
The movie deals with the social issues plaguing Malaysians, but ironically, is banned in the country. “The Game Of Las Vegas” also marks the first time that Namewee has been nominated for an best actor award.

Although Namewee and his numerous movies have been nominated for several awards, both international and domestic, he has yet to bag an accolade.
