2025 hasn’t been the easiest for Malaysian stars Anuar Zain and Ziana Zain. After losing their father in August of this year, the siblings announced the passing of their mother on Christmas Eve (24th December 2025, Wednesday).
According to reports, Anuar and Ziana’s mother, Hajah Robiah binti Abdul, passed away from heart cancer. She was 74. Her funeral and burial took place yesterday (Thursday, 25th December 2025). She was laid to rest at the Elmina Cemetery in Selangor. Over 150 people, including family members, attended the funeral to pay their final respects.
Robiah’s passing came four months, roughly 100 days, after the death of her husband, Zain @ Zin Abdullah. The latter passed away on 26th August 2025 at age 87 after succumbing to prostate cancer. The couple are survived by five children, including Anuar and Zain, and 13 grandchildren.
During an interview with local media, Ziana expressed grief at the passing of both parents within four months. The singer said she can’t imagine spending the coming Ramadan and Raya celebrations without her parents, adding, “I can’t imagine it. Who will I ask for forgiveness from? My parents are gone. It’s just us siblings left.”
Despite the emotions, Ziana noted that she felt blessed to be able to spend time with her parents until their final days. She said that being able to take care of her mother and father during their sick days and ensure their happiness until the end eliminates all sense of regret for her and her siblings.
