The terminator is back, as promised.
Just like in “Terminator 2: Judgement Day” and “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines”, the terminator’s sole purpose is to protect human beings and in “Terminator Genisys“, he will be obliged to protect Sarah Connor.
Even though the trailer has revealed a number of major spoilers and showed plenty of big action sequences, there’s still a lot of questions and uncertainty that have left the audiences wondering.
So, to answer some of these doubts and questions, Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions have released a new behind-the-scenes featurette that centres on the relationship between Sarah Connor (played by “Game of Thrones” star Emilia Clarke) and the aged T-800 cyborg (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger).

The new featurette has shone the limelight on Schwarzenegger’s cybernetic organism as they’ve revealed the cyborg’s name, Guardian. They’ve also displayed the intimate bond between the Guardian and Sarah Connor, especially when Sarah called her Guardian “Pops” in one of the featurettes’ clip and also when the Guardian reminded Sarah to put on her seat belt.
Towards the end of the featurette, Arnold was heard saying, “I think people can really expect great entertainment”. So, is that a huge hint that the movie will be a mind-blowing one? We’ll see in less than a month 😉
Alan Taylor (of “Thor: The Dark World” fame) is on board to direct the first in a planned trilogy based on a script written by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier. The film also stars J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi, Matthew Smith, Courtney B.Vance and Lee Byung-Hun.
The film centres on John Connor (played by Jason Clarke), the leader of the human resistance, who send sargeant Kyle Reese (played by Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor and safeguard the future. But an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. The story continues with sargeant Reese finding himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he has to deal with unlikely allies, including the Guardian, an extremely dangerous feud, and an unexpected new mission: To reset the future…
“Terminator Genisys” will hit cinemas near you on 1st July 2015 while the second Terminator film is slated for release on 19th May 2017 and last but not least, the third instalment to conclude the trilogy will be released on 29th June 2018.
