Remember 2002’s “Minority Report”? The American neo-noir science fiction mystery-thriller film directed by Steven Spielberg, which tells the story of the PreCrime police force which uses visions of the future generated by 3 Precogs, mutated humans with precognitive abilities, to stop murders before they happen. Unsurprisingly, the movie went on to receive critical acclaim and earned nominations for many awards.
Well, “Minority Report” fans who have been dying for the movie to be turned into a TV series will be pleased to know that, yes, it’s happening. Said to be one of the highest profile pitches this season, it has officially been given a green light by Fox. The channel has ordered a pilot for the show, which could ultimately lead to a full series order!
“Minority Report” the TV series will be written and produced by Max Borenstein, the same man who was responsible for last year’s blockbuster, “Godzilla“. Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television, which has done shows like Showtime’s “The Borgias” and TNT’s “Falling Skies” have also come on board.
And as for the plot, the only thing we know for now is that it will pick up 10 years after the events of the 2002 film, when one of the three Precogs struggles to lead a “normal” human life, but remains haunted by visions the future, when he meets a detective haunted by her past, who just may help him find a purpose to his gift.

There’s no news yet on who the potential cast will be but we’re pretty sure that whoever it is would have pretty big shoes to fill considering the fact that Tom Cruise and Colin Farrell both had roles in the “Minority Report” film.
