A science-fiction thriller of sheer brilliance, Gravity takes your into the unforgiving realm of space. Sandra Bullock and George Clooney play two astronauts who find themselves a drift in space and cut off from all Earth communications. Sandra plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a medical engineer on her first shuttle mission with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George).
The early scenes of the movie showed a typical day at work where Matt is testing a new jet pack on a routine spacewalk. He chats with the third astronaut outside the shuttle, cracking jokes and telling stories. Not long after, deadly debris from a Russian satellite destruction that went wrong heads their way, trashing their ship and killing the third astronaut at the same time and separating Dr. Ryan Stone and Matt Kowalsky from each other.
The two astronauts who find their way to each other again are left stranded with mere minutes of oxygen in Dr. Stone’s suit leaving her with a much higher chance of facing a faster death. Kowalsky then calmed Dr. Stone down his shooting voice and came up with a plan. They head towards the International Space Station (ISS) which was abandoned due to the debris assault.
Gravity plays out in real time as they have ninety minutes before the next space junk to get to safety but everything gets in their way and they face challenges after challenges. Making their peril our peril, Gravity is a movie that is so tensed and deeply affecting that is absolutely beautiful and moving.
