Whenever hanging out with a best friend, you’re definitely going to take photos with them for ‘social media purposes’. Before posting them, some will make sure your friends look nice – or maybe not.
For local celebrities Miko Wong (黃潔琪) and Michie Lam’s case, it’s a different story. Instead of ‘Let’s be beautiful together!’, their posts poke fun at each other. It was all in good fun though.
Looking at beauty influencer Miko Wong’s post, you might wonder who the person beside her is. As mentioned in her caption, “Today is best friend day ✨💖👯♀️.” But who is this best friend exactly? Even netizens struggle to identify the best friend in her post. “You’ve edited the picture until I can’t recognize her 😂 I would have no idea who it was if it weren’t for her post being right below yours (on my feed) 😂,” one netizen commented.
All you can see from her post is her beautiful self, while her female pal’s face had been enlarged horizontally. Miko’s bestie had been edited to have really chubby cheeks and arms that does not match her figure. One of her arms were muscular, whereas, the other was the opposite. Well actually, the girl is Michie Lam, an artist from Dissy.
In ‘retaliation’, Michie also posted on the same day, captioning her post as “Went bazaar shopping with my bestie today 👩🏻🤝👩🏼❤️.” Michie returned the favour by making Miko look like a chipmunk, with fat cheeks. Netizens were roaring in laughter at both their posts. “Mutual harm 😂”, “That arm muscle HAHAHA“, “Why does my goddess look like that 😂” were some of the netizens’ reactions towards the edited pictures.
Like the saying by Oscar Wilde goes, “A good friend will always stab you in the front.” Miko and Michie’s playful spat on Instagram is a perfect embodiment of the saying.
