We puckered up for M.A.C Cosmetics’ birthday party, hitched a ride to Mercedes-Benz World, scored a great time at the adidas UEFA EURO 2024 Pop-up, and more. We were on the scene, and vibing like a boss! Just check out our social diary for this past week (don’t be jelly!):
Mercedes-Benz World @ KL Base
We entered a world where history meets innovation at Mercedes-Benz World. Held at KL Base, Sungai Besi, we had the opportunity to take a gander at Mercedes’s vast selection of vehicles, ranging from the powerhouse jeeps all the way to its speedy electric car. It’s also worth noting that this is the biggest showcase event the luxury brand has held in the country, and thus, to make it extra special, they launched a brand new wave of AMG cars, the centrepiece of which was none other than the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E PERFORMANCE F1 Edition.
This brand-new sports vehicle features state-of-the-art technology, such as its AMG high-performance battery, which is capable of delivering a superior system output of 500kW (680hp) with impressive driving dynamics and high efficiency. With an output per litre of 176 kW (238hp), the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E PERFORMANCE is the most potent four-cylinder engine in the world, changing the game in the company’s 55-year history. The “F1 Edition” has an amazing exterior design with a colour gradient and a large AMG logo, along with an exclusive and eye-catching MANUFAKTUR alpine grey solid paint finish.
There’s also the Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 S 4MATIC+. Equipped with a powerful engine, this compact SUV sprints from 0 to 100km/h in 4.3 seconds. Mercedes-AMG is adding aesthetic and technological upgrades to the exterior and interior of its compact Performance SUV. The redesigned front apron and the AMG crest on the bonnet are the two most distinctive aspects of the Mercedes-AMG exterior. Subtle visual accents are added by the new light signature for the LED rear lights and the MULTIBEAM LED headlights. The newest AMG Performance steering wheel, with Nappa leather and MICROCUT microfibre interior, is featured. And last, but certainly not least, is the Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 4MATIC. This second-generation RSG operates as a mild hybrid, producing 225kW (306hp) of power from the agile, high-torque 2.0 litre 4-cylinder turbo engine. The power is distributed to all four wheels via the AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive and the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 8G gearbox. The RSG is equipped with a belt-driven starter generator (RSG) and an additional 48-volt on-board power supply. With a top speed of 250 km/h, this performance car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds. The Mercedes-AMG logo on the redesigned front apron, along with the front and rear light signatures, create a striking visual effect. Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus and LED rear lights on the MULTIBEAM LED headlights improve visibility, especially at night. AMG steering wheel buttons are integrated into the most recent model of the Nappa leather AMG Performance steering wheel inside the cabin. Celebrating 30 Years Of Bernard Chandran In Malay Contemporary Fashion
As pioneer in Malaysian fashion, designer Bernard Chandran has been consistently pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation. His visionary designs and UNMATCHED approach have not only pushed boundaries in traditional Malay wear, but also inspired countless individuals to think beyond conventional fashion norms. Chandran’s remarkable contributions have played a significant role in elevating the status of Malay contemporary fashion both locally and internationally. His work continues to be a source of inspiration to many designers and fashion enthusiasts, encouraging them to proudly embrace their culture and creativity in their own artistic expressions.
In speaking about his inspiration, Bernard Chandran explained, “I imagine my muses attending the Oscars or Grammys but in a Malay contemporary look.” While his collections are mostly female-centered, the artist did tease that he’ll be showcasing his contemporary menswear next. For now, fans can drop by the 30 Years in Malay Contemporary Fashion exhibition currently taking place at Level 3 Fahrenheit 88, from 5th to 7th July.

Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra Presents “Symphonic Anime 5” Concert
Everyone knows that anime theme songs can be the most epic music you’d ever hear, but to enjoy them all at a live orchestra concert – now that just takes it to a whole new level. We were amazed, enthralled, speechless, breathless and everything in between when we attended the recent “Symphonic Anime 5” concert at Dewan Filhamonik Petronas last weekend. The first half hit us with all the nostalgic favourites, including from beloved childhood anime like “Detective Conan”, “Doraemon”, “Sailormoon” and “Dragon Ball Z”.
The concert was conducted by the amazing Joshua Tan from Singapore, who is an anime fan himself. The show also featured live vocals by singer Rina Hime who performed a few popular hits, including “Blue Bird” from “Naruto” and “Gurenge” from “Demon Slayer”. The second half of the show, which was just as epic, was dedicated to the younger generations, with popular anime songs of today such as “The Other Side of the Sea” from “Attack On Titan, “Mixed Nuts” from “Spy X Family” and “Thunderclap” from “Jujutsu Kaisen”.
The encore, “A Cruel Angel’s Thesis” from the “Neon Genesis Evangelion” even received standing ovations from members of the audience. Long story short, the entire night was nothing short of spectacular. Our personal favourite moment was when they performed “Lugia’s Song” from the “Pokemon 2000” movie, an iconic piece we’ve been dying to hear live by an orchestra.

Gentle Monster & Jennie’s Jentle Salon Pop-Up At The Exchange TRX
The highly-anticipated Jentle Salon pop-up has finally arrived in Malaysia! The third project, imagined by Gentle Monster and BLACKPINK’s Jennie, features a collection that transcends the realm of eyewear through its adorable charm designs and trendy silhouettes. In celebration of the collection, Gentle Monster held a worldwide pop-up tour in 12 cities, before finally landing at its final stop in Kuala Lumpur.
The eye-catching pop-up is now open to all at The Exchange TRX. The highlight of the set-up is the fantastical objects, which include the iconic giant unicorn. Of course, we can’t forget the Jentle Salon collection, composed of eight frame silhouettes and several charm options, encouraging wearers to unleash their creativity.

After an unfortunate ending to his first business venture in Malaysia, Japanese media personality ROLAND finally opened the doors to the first ROLAND BEAUTY LOUNGE (RBL) in Kuala Lumpur! Also present at the grand opening were several Malaysia-based Japanese influencers, as well as fans and partners of ROLAND.
Located at The Exchange 106, the RBL is a collaboration between the popular Japanese beauty clinic chain and EQUINOX Proptech Sdn Bhd. The clinic offers several beauty treatment services, including hair removal, botox and skin analysis. RBL is now open for booking and located at UG-25 in The Exchange 106.
