At just fifteen years old, Jordan Ezra has etched his name into Malaysian music history. The talented young musician has released his debut album, “Oddity in Duality,” a diverse collection of 10 instrumental tracks spanning genres from country blues to pop and rock.
This impressive feat has earned him a place in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) as the youngest Malaysian to compose and produce a solo album. “I’m very happy. It’s definitely a great honour, and I feel very lucky to have achieved this,” Jordan told FMT Lifestyle, reflecting on his remarkable accomplishment.

Jordan’s musical journey began early, with his father, an avid music lover, enrolling him in guitar and piano lessons. His dedication and passion have clearly paid off, as he performed every instrument on the album, including guitars, piano, bass, drums, and keyboards. The Selangor-born prodigy started working on some of the songs when he was just nine years old.
“The first song I ever wrote, ‘Now I Know’, is the second song on the album. ‘Oddity in Duality’ marks my progression as a songwriter and producer over the course of almost seven years,” he explained. Influenced by legendary bands like Pink Floyd, The Beatles, and The Beach Boys, Jordan’s music showcases his evolving talent.

The album was officially launched on 25th July, with the 15-year-old receiving his MBR certificate at a Star Wars-themed event. Notable attendees included youth and sports minister Hannah Yeoh, former Positive Tone Records CEO Ahmad Izham Omar, and Indonesian ambassador Indera Hermono. During the event, Jordan was also presented with Malaysia’s first Millennium Falcon electric guitar.
Looking ahead, the Form 4 student at Sri KL International School hopes his debut album will be a springboard for a successful music career. He aspires to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, aiming for a degree in composition, production, and sound engineering. “It would be cool if I could become a big-name music producer in future. I’d love to produce great music for other artists,” he concluded.
