It’s that time of the year again when TC Candler announces the entries to their high-anticipated Annual Independent Critics List of the 100 Most Beautiful and Most Handsome Faces. The list has been published annually in various formats since the 1990s, and fans eagerly await every year to see if their faves make it into the list.
TC Candler has published the 2023 edition of the list on YouTube, and it seems two Malaysians made the cut! The two are none other than actor Meerqeen and actress Anna Jobling – who were also the only two Malaysians listed in 2022’s 100 Most Handsome and Beautiful Faces list. Here’s where the two celebs placed on this year’s list:
Meerqeen is No.62!
Selangor-born Meerqeen (real name Muhammad Shameer Shauqeen Shaiful Izam) made it in the list again and ranks no.62 for 2023’s 100 Most Handsome Faces. The 22-year-old rose to fame after winning third place in the Hero Remaja 2019/2020 contest and is now one of Malaysia’s most popular young actors.
While the star did drop a few spots from last year when he ranked no.55, he still managed to beat out a few international celebrities like British footballer David Beckham, British actor Robert Pattinson and even BTS member Jin! Meerqeen also acknowledged his entry to this year’s list via a shared posting on his Instagram Story.
Anna Jobling is No.66!
Once again joining Meerqeen on the TC Candler list is actress Anna Jobling, who ranked at no.66 in the 100 Most Beautiful Faces list. Like her “Melur Untuk Firdaus” co-star Meerqeen, the 23-year-old actress also got her start from the Dewi Remaja contest and is now one of the country’s biggest stars, currently starring in the Astro Ria drama, “Syurga Itu Bukan Mudah”.
Anna managed to rise a few spots from 2022, jumping from no.84 to no.66. Some international celebrities that the star beat out include French-American actress Lily-Rose Depp, British actress Emma Watson and even Barbie herself, Margot Robbie! Anna has also acknowledged her entry to this year’s list, reposting an Instagram Story from a fan.
