Many industries across the board have been suffering due to the Covid-19 pandemic and extended movement control order (MCO). Sitting at the top of the list are the hotel industry and tourism.

A survey by the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) reveal that 15% of hotels in Malaysia may be closing down for good. While some hotel operators shared that they will remain close till year end, others may only resume businesses once a vaccine is found.

In the meantime, here’s a list of hotels that have been affected:

  • Closed on: 30th April 2020
  • 79 employees have been notified beforehand in accordance to their Employment Contract terms and will be paid their due salaries in accordance with the Employment Act.
