K-pop fans were left devastated after it was announced that THE BOYZ would no longer be performing in Kuala Lumpur this October, as planned, due to “local circumstances”. Prior to that, another Korean act, Loco, had also been forced to cancel his show in Malaysia, supposedly for the same reason.
Now, it seems Mandopop fans are facing a similar disappointment, following news of yet another cancelled concert. It has been confirmed that former EXO member, Luhan (鹿晗)’s Kuala Lumpur concert has officially been cancelled.

Yesterday (Monday, 6th October), iMe Malaysia issued an official statement informing fans that Luhan’s upcoming “Season 4” concert, originally scheduled for this weekend (11th October) at Mega Star Arena, has been cancelled on the advice of doctors and health professionals due to the singer’s health condition. It was also stated that his concert in Tokyo, Japan, scheduled for 16th October, has been cancelled as well.
“Once again, we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused by the cancellation of the performances. Thank you for your long-term support and companionship. We wish Mr Luhan a speedy recovery and look forward to meeting again in the future,” the statement reads. Details on the ticket refund process will be shared at a later date. This marks the second concert organised by iMe Malaysia to be cancelled this year, following THE BOYZ’s announcement over the weekend.

Shortly after the announcement, fans expressed their disappointment over the cancellation. However, many also questioned why the statement was issued solely in Mandarin, as not all of Luhan’s fans are able to understand the language. Some also directed their frustration towards iMe Malaysia, accusing the organiser of treating non-Mandarin-speaking fans as outsiders, despite the concert being held in Malaysia.
Others expressed concern over the increasing number of international concerts being cancelled in Malaysia recently. At the time of writing, iMe Malaysia has yet to issue a follow-up statement in either English or Malay to inform more local fans about the cancellation, nor have they responded to the backlash. We wish Luhan a speedy recovery, and let’s hope that the star will add Malaysia to his next Asia tour.
