During the “Wicked: For Good” premiere in Singapore last week, a terrifying incident happened where a man lunged at Ariana Grande before getting hauled away by security. Yesterday (17th November 2025), the man was charged in Singapore court for causing a ruckus at the event.
Australian social media personality Johnson Wen, known by his online persona Pyjama Man, pleaded guilty to one charge of being a public nuisance. On 13th November 2025, at the Singapore premiere of “Wicked: For Good”, the 26-year-old leapt over the barricade before charging towards Ariana on the yellow carpet.

Ariana’s co-star Cynthia Erivo immediately confronted Johnson, pushing him away from the singer. Security officers soon apprehended the gatecrasher and took him away. However, during his trial, the court heard he had attempted to intrude on the premiere twice. After the first incident, Johnson made a second attempt to jump the barricades, but was stopped by security.
Johnson’s harassment of Ariana made global headlines and sparked outrage. Many called for his arrest, noting his history of disrupting concerts and celebrity events. Several also mentioned how the incident could be traumatising for Ariana, who has spoken of experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after the bomb attack at her Manchester concert in 2017.

The court sentenced Johnson to nine days in jail. However, under Singapore’s public nuisance laws, he could’ve been jailed for up to three months, fined up to SGD2,000 (approximately RM6,400) or both. During the trial, District Judge Christopher Goh called the controversial figure “attention-seeking” and said he had assumed wrongly that his actions would carry no consequences.
Meanwhile, the press tour for “Wicked: For Good” proceeded as usual, with the cast making no direct mention of the incident. Hopefully, the nine-day jail sentence will put an end to Johnson’s nonsense. What are your thoughts on this?
