As the saying goes, “misfortune comes without warning,” and that perfectly captures the chilling feeling brought to life in the latest horror film “Qifarah.”

Directed by prolific filmmaker Ghaz Abu Bakar, this film is set to shake cinemas across Malaysia starting 9th October 2025, leaving audiences with an unshakable sense of dread. Are you ready to face the fear that may haunt you?

Ever since the poster and official trailer dropped, social media has been buzzing about the film’s bold take on horror. Packed with mystery and heart-stopping jump scares, viewers aren’t just startled – some even admitted they couldn’t sit still while watching. Combined with its nerve-wracking visuals, chilling sound effects, and suffocatingly eerie atmosphere, “Qifarah” has quickly become the talk of the town and is haunting audiences even before its release.

Adding to the excitement, the film boasts an all-star Malaysian cast. Remy Ishak, Sharifah Sakinah, Liyana Jasmay, Namron, Rita Nadira, Vanidah Imran, Esma Daniel, and Rafique Iskandar deliver powerful, emotional performances that are sure to grip audiences from start to finish.

“Qifarah” tells the story of Yusoff (Remy Ishak), who finds himself entangled in his family’s dark legacy of black magic. A shocking call about his ailing father, Ghazali (Esma Daniel), forces him to return from Cairo – reopening a past he had tried to bury. But his homecoming unravels dark secrets, old grudges, and haunting shadows that refuse to let him go.

Running at 1 minute and 30 seconds, the official trailer for “Qifarah” sets the tone for a fresh and daring horror experience. It teases elements of dark, mystical rituals shrouded in mystery, delivering a strong shock factor. The trailer not only sparks curiosity but also ignites heated discussions among viewers.
