Concerts and music festivals can be both chaotic and exhilarating, but not everyone is a fan of the high energy and loud atmosphere. Some prefer something more classical and dramatic, and what better way to experience that than by attending a performance by the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO)?

Usually held at the iconic Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS, the MPO hosts concerts and festivals throughout the year that you won’t want to miss. One of the highlights in the upcoming programme is the Chopin Festival, a celebration of the brilliance of the renowned Polish composer Frédéric Chopin. So, who will be performing? Alongside the MPO, acclaimed pianist Melody Quah is set to take the stage, bringing Chopin’s timeless works to life for audiences to enjoy.

Born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Melody Quah has made a name for herself on the international classical music scene. She has performed in some of the world’s most iconic concert halls, including in Hungary, Canada, England, Australia, Japan and the United States, collaborating with several prestigious orchestras across these countries. Now, she’s set to return to her home country to share her love for not only classical music but be part of the upcoming Chopin Festival.

According to the official website, classical music fans would get to savour Chopin’s love song, among other compositions, as the MPO presents his Piano Concerto No. 1, one of his most popular works. With a heroic beginning, a melancholic middle and a vigorous end, this iconic masterpiece invites you on an endearing journey through the depths of the human soul.
