If you haven’t heard the news, Mandopop icon Jay Chou (周杰倫) is returning to Kuala Lumpur this October for his “Carnival World Tour”. Ticket sales opened on 4th June (Tuesday) – and unsurprisingly, the concert tickets sold out within a few hours. However, many fans are now asking the singer for another show.

The ticket sales were handled by BookMyShow Malaysia, which also managed the ticketing for other big-name performers like IU and Super Junior. However, many argued that their server wasn’t strong enough to manage the heavy traffic of Jay Chou fans. Unsatisfied fans took to social media to complain about their experience, lamenting they couldn’t grab tickets to the highly anticipated concert despite being in the online queue for hours.

Fans noted multiple issues with the site, like the ticketing page crashing on them or showing errors when they tried clicking on their chosen categories. While some fans managed to grab tickets, they couldn’t complete the payment, which caused them to lose their seats. Some netizens also allege the tickets were sold to scalpers using bots during the purchase. Sure enough, a quick look through a notable online marketplace shows multiple listings for Jay Chou tickets just a day after the sales started.

The terrible ticketing experience led many fans to spam Jay’s social media account, begging the star to add another KL show. Many explained they couldn’t get a ticket because of scalpers and the faulty ticketing system, so adding another night would give them another chance to see the singer in person. Some said the star should consider an additional show, especially since he’s only performing one concert in Kuala Lumpur while other stops like Singapore are getting multiple shows.

The concert organisers have yet to address the issue with ticketing or the possibility of another show – but hopefully, they’ll consider the fans’ requests.
