What’s great about a staycation is being able to enjoy a unique holiday experience while in the comfort of the hotel. What makes Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur a standout is not only its location and facilities, but also its collaboration with Lush Malaysia.

When we first heard of this partnership, we were puzzled. What does a luxury hotel and handmade cosmetics company have in common? How do these 2 well known brands elevate each other?
We soon discovered that both LUSH and Banyan Tree KL are strong advocates for sustainability. Lush is known for its packaging-free innovations via its Naked products. The company also ensures that most (if not all) of its product range is vegan/vegetarian and free of animal testing. It’s also worth noting that their ingredients are sourced responsibly, sustainably and free of any nasties such as genetically modified organisms (GMO).
Likewise, Banyan Tree also places great importance on sustainability. From the moment we stepped into the room, we noticed pamphlets promoting conservation, the usage of glass bottles instead of plastic ones, as well as side notes encouraging hotel guests to be mindful of power and water consumption. So it totally makes sense for both brands who share the same values to join forces in spreading awareness.
2D1N of A Lush Escape
Located right in the Golden Triangle, Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur is directly connected to Pavilion KL mall and just a stone’s throw away from the Conlay MRT and a 10-15 minutes walk to KLCC. Although there were plenty of things to explore nearby, we wanted to remain in our luxurious room and soak in the Aromatherapy tranquility.
Hotel guests who opt for “A Lush Escape” package are treated to 2 highlights when checking in. We got to choose our preferred Aromatherapy essential oil (we selected Lemongrass to relieve tiredness) and 1 Lush Bath Bomb. Out of the 4 options – Sax Bomb, Twilight, Sleepy Bar and Deep Dream – we went with the latter.
The Deep Dream Bath Bomb is wrapped with Lavender and Roman chamomile flowers in biodegradable muslin. When come in contact with warm water, it creates a hypnotic blend that smells like a calming cup of Chamomile tea.
The calming effect immediately put us at ease and blends well with the Aromatherapy. All there was to do was enjoy the cityscape view (with KL Tower at the forefront) while our playlist of instrumental music played in the background.
In addition to the in-house dining (for those who prefer to remain in room), Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur also houses several other premier dining venues that offer specially-curated menus. Altitude on level 53 is famed for its decadent Afternoon Tea as well as the fusion of Japanese and Peruvian flavors in Nikkei cuisine.
Meanwhile, Horizon Grill (58th floor) offers a gourmet rooftop dining experience from a selection of fresh seafood and premium meats. To enjoy the stunning view of the city skyline, guests can also head up to Vertigo and Vertigo TOO.
