Of all the celebrity rumours we’ve heard, this new rumour regarding Luhan definitely sounds a little far-fetched.
The former EXO member is currently in the midst of promoting Zhang Yimou’s upcoming English movie “The Great Wall” alongside Matt Damon and Andy Lau. While promoting the film, rumour ran wild that Luhan is now a father after Chinese website Sohu claimed that a former Korean idol member registered for marriage in March.
According to Sohu, the former Korean idol member, who is only known as “L”, has a Korean girlfriend who is being watched over by his close friend. The site further reported that “L” registered for marriage on his girlfriend’s birthday in March. Though the report did not state the name of the idol member in question, many claimed that it was obviously referring to Luhan.
Regarding the marriage rumour, Luhan’s representatives released an official statement through their official Weibo account. In the statement, they revealed that the rumour originated from a netizen who spread the false news through a Chinese messenger app called Weixin.
They further explained:
This morning a user of Weixin wrote about a young star “L” becoming a father. It lead to many rumours that are groundless and they have spread without being confirmed. These malicious and baseless rumours have affected Luhan quite negatively.
They added, “Luhan doesn’t have a Korean girlfriend like the rumours say and it is untrue that he has gotten married and had a child”. They further stated that legal action will be taken to the ones who spread the rumour.
Meanwhile, Luhan is actively promoting as an actor in China after filing a lawsuit against SM Entertainment and withdrawing from EXO. He will be seen next as the male lead of “I Am A Witness”, a Chinese remake of a 2011 Korean thriller and crime-based award-winning flick titled, “Blind“.
