Christmas may be less than 7 months away, but we’ve received a present in the form of a “Love Actually” mini sequel.
“Love Actually 2” aired in March, in conjunction with Red Nose Day – an annual charity aimed at supporting children. Guess what guys? The short film was made available online and everyone can now watch it.
14 years later, is everyone still in love and happy? What are our favourite characters up to these days? As promised, Hugh Grant, Martine McCutcheon, Keira Knightley, Andrew Lincoln, Colin Firth, Lucia Moniz, Liam Neeson, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Olivia Olson, Bill Nighy, Marcus Brigstocke, and Rowan Atkinson are back, reprising their roles to give the audience an update on their characters respectively.
Juliet (played by Keira Knightley) and Peter (played by Chiwetel Ejiofor) are still blissfully married. This time around, Mark’s memorable cue cards informs Juliet that he’s managed to follow through on his promise by marrying supermodel Kate Moss.
Hugh Grant still has the moves. Instead of dancing to “Jump”, Grant as the Prime Minister is now grooving to Drake’s “Hotline Bling”. To wrap things up, he also gives an inspiring speech that “love, actually, is still all around.”
“It’s not just romantic love that’s all around. Most people still, everyday, everywhere have enough love in their hearts to help human beings in trouble. Good’s gonna win. I’m actually sure of it,” says Grant’s character. In light of recent events, this is exactly what the world needs right now.
