Local Singer Joanne Fu Helped Flight Attendants Recover RM12k For Passenger

While some celebrities got in trouble with the authorities, others found themselves helping them! Local singer Joanne Fu (符涵芊) recently shared how she ended up helping flight attendants and the police catch a thief aboard her flight to Macau.

The public figure shared the experience through a recent post on her Instagram account. According to Joanne, she was on a flight to Macau when another passenger realised they were missing about RMB19,600 in cash (approximately RM12,700) upon landing. To investigate the case, the flight attendants needed to make an announcement asking the passengers, particularly the Chinese-speaking crowd, to remain seated. Unfortunately, none of the attendants spoke the language.

Joanne said one of the attendants approached her, asking if she could assist them with translating the announcement, to which she agreed. She said the flight attendant would tell her what to say, and she would then announce it in Chinese through the plane’s intercom system. The singer admitted she was nervous, but the flight attendant helped calm her down. After asking the passengers to remain seated, the police officers got on a plane and investigated the matter.

The artist revealed that someone found another stack of cash in the plane, but in Indonesian Rupiah notes, proving there was a theft aboard. Thankfully, the authorities quickly narrowed down a suspect, and the other passengers could disembark the plane. According to the flight attendants, such theft cases are common, especially on flights to Macau, so Joanne advised her followers to be vigilant if they are heading to the region.

Many netizens have reacted to Joanne’s story, commending her for her assistance on the matter. Some also said it must’ve been thrilling for Joanne to make the announcement, adding that she must’ve felt she was part of the flight crew. In her post, the vocalist also admitted that the experience did fulfil her childhood dream of being a flight attendant.
