In the world of stars and celebrities, a single mistake can tip the scales against you. And often, most of them don’t manage to drag themselves out of the mess. However, that doesn’t mean it’s impossible either.

Chinese artist Li Yifeng (李易峰) aka Evan Li met his downfall earlier this year when he was arrested for soliciting prostitutes. Although this has sealed him off from continuing his career in China, Yifeng has supposedly started looking for opportunities elsewhere. In fact, there are rumours he’s aiming for Southeast Asia!

It was recently discovered that Yifeng is selling his mansion in a luxurious part of Beijing. The mansion has a market value of over HK$40 million (~RM24 million). However, Chinese media claim Yifeng is selling the mansion to compensate the brands he endorsed.

The artist is allegedly expected to reimburse his endorsement fees. Additionally, Yifeng has to pay an additional 30% for breaching a clause in his contract regarding his behaviour. The artist and his studio are also being sued by the Shanghai Joyu Culture Communication Company over “related service contract disputes”.

However, while Yifeng may be struggling with the aftermath of his scandal, he apparently hasn’t given up on his career yet. Yifeng’s agent is reportedly searching for foreign agencies to work with. In fact, there are claims that Yifeng’s agent has been contacted by an overseas company. They have allegedly promised to help Yifeng develop a career abroad.

Yifeng has understandably lost a lot of support from his home country. However, he appears to still be popular in other countries, such as Thailand. Well, if he does manage to return elsewhere, we sincerely hope he will be more careful with his image!
