Lemon Garden Review: So Much Yums With Over 300 Dishes To Try At Shangri-La KL’s Sajian Istimewa Buffet

Ramadan is officially upon us and our Malay friends have already kick-started their fasting period. With so many options of Ramadan spreads available in the Klang Valley, it can sometimes get overwhelming to select a suitable spot to relax and bond over a sumptuous meal. On the top of our list is Lemon Garden.

The popular restaurant in Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur returns with their amazing Sajian Istimewa Buffet that promises a whole array of mouthwatering dishes. You name it, they’ve got it. As a seafood lover, we always make it a point to begin with some fresh oysters, prawns, mussels, and crabs. There’s a reason why the seafood area is always the star section for many diners – it never disappoints!

But don’t count the other food stations out. Over at the Chinese corner, there is the dedicated soup section with small bowls of double-boiled soup (there are usually 3-4 options available) that always warms our belly and heart. The nourishing flavour and ingredients in the soup remind us of our matriarch’s skills in the kitchen. Our plate was also filled with roast chicken, roast duck, fried rice, prawns, steamed grouper fish, an assortment of vegetables and selected dim sum.

For our second serving, we visited the Middle Eastern and Western corners for Indian tandoori, satay, Udang masak Petai, Ekor masak Assam Pedas, Gulai Tulang Rawan, Kambing Panggang Berempah, Gulai Ikan Sembilang, as well as fresh off the oven pizzas. We also can’t sing enough praises for the whole roasted lamb carving station. It’s a definite must-try!

From Parkview Café To ATAS @ The RuMa Hotel: New Dining Menus To Check Out In KL

If you’re in the mood for pasta, we’d suggest mixing it with some cold cuts smoked salmon, smoked duck, and chicken pastrami. You can thank us later 😉

But since this is a Ramadan affair, one of the highlights is of course the Warung stalls decorated in a heritage theme outside at the Garden Terrace. One thing we love about the live stations set up outside is the interactive element where dining guests can ask the chefs on duty about the array of dishes being prepared. Here, you’ll find Shish Tawouk, Iranian Kubbeideh, Lamb Shawarma, Barbeque Honey Chicken Wings, Grilled Spicy Tiger Prawns, and Grilled US Oyster, in addition to Bubur Lambok, Sup Kambing, Lemang Pulut, Ketupat Palas, Fried Cempedak, Pengat Durian.

Once you’ve stuff yourselves with all the amazing dishes above, it’s time for your tummy to magically open another space specially reserved for desserts. For all you sweet tooth, you’re in for a treat. Indulge in the variety of kuih-muih, dodol, cakes, cream puffs, cup cakes, and of course, ice cream. By the end of it, you’ll probably be in a food coma, but trust us, it’s oh-so worth it 😉

The Sajian Istimewa Buffet at Lemon Garden @ Shangri-La KL is available from now till 21st April 2023, 7pm – 10pm. Monday to Thursday for RM250 nett per person Friday to Sunday and public holidays and RM 290 nett per person.

In addition to the lavish Sajian Istimewa Buffet spread, diners can also purchase the various gift sets at Lemon Garden 2Go for family, friends, and business associates. From sweets, and cakes, to traditional cookies, these options will certainly make the perfect Hari Raya gift sets when house visits. The sweets selection features a range of traditional Malaysian delicacies such as Dodol, a sweet toffee-like dessert made from coconut milk. Cake selections include the popular Gula Hangus Cake and Pandan Onde-Onde Cake, while cookies selection include Pineapple Rolls, Kuih Bangkit, and Kuih Loyang.
