Malaysians everywhere, near and far, knows who our iconic Datuk Lee Chong Wei is. The former professional badminton player is acknowledged worldwide as one of the best badminton players of all time.
Not only is Datuk Lee Chong Wei a national hero, he is apparently, a romantic too! Just recently, the retired badminton player posted on his Instagram page a long anniversary love note for his wife, Datin Wong Mew Choo.
The UNICEF Malaysia’s National Ambassador posted a series of pictures of him and his wife from earlier days when they first met until a more recent picture of the already married couple. He even included a rare old photo of the couple at a badminton court!
The post is accommodated with a heartfelt anniversary wish of him recalling the first time they met at badminton camp. The post ended with Datuk Lee Chong Wei saying that he was the lucky one to have known his wife. How sweet!
An hour after the triple Olympic silver medallist posted on Instagram, his wife too posted an anniversary wish. Datin Wong Mew Choo made a special video of their journey together as husband and wife.
Her captions wrote, “Thank you for always holding my hand, and coming one step at a time. There’s still a lot more to come, and we’re going to walk hand-in-hand. Mr Lee, I love you so much as the eyes of that afternoon. Thank you for remembering. Happy 10th anniversary.”
This year is the couple’s 10th year being married. And even after a decade of marriage, their love still shines brighter than ever. We wish nothing but the best for their future endeavours!
