Ever since it was announced that they were making an autobiographical movie about Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, the people of Malaysia have been looking forward to see the story of the politician’s past. Titled “Anwar, The Untold Story”, the highly-anticipated biopic will hit local cinemas in May later this year.

The official press conference for the movie was held yesterday (Wednesday, 1st March) at W Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Some of the cast and crew who were involved in the movie attended the press conference but no one expected this familiar face to make an appearance as well.

It was obviously no surprise that the lead actor Farid Kamil (as Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) and Hasnul Rahmat (as Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad) showed up during the press conference for “Anwar, The Untold Story” movie but to everyone’s surprise, late Hong Kong singer Anita Mui‘s brother, Mui Kai Ming also attended the event.

According to ChinaPress, the public figure was seen seated at the press conference with his wife Malaysian wife, Joey, and their 14-year-old son, Richard. Local reporters approached the infamous celeb to ask why he was there to which he answered that he was invited to attend the press conference by an acquaintance.

The 71-year-old reportedly told the Malaysian media that he often visits the country and that he will be staying here for a month with his family. The late singer’s brother also shared that he has plans to get his teenage son to enter the entertainment industry but not in the near future as Richard is currently prioritising school. It was not mentioned if the son wanted to be an actor or a singer like his late aunt.

According to the Chinese news outlet, the family seemed to have enjoyed themselves, being in each other’s company during the event. For your information, it was previously reported last year that Mui Kai Ming allegedly lied to the media about his son having cancer. Prior to that, the controversial celeb’s mother announced that she had severed ties with him over money dispute.
