It’s been five years since actor Chadwick Boseman passed away from colon cancer at the age of 43, and the world continues to mourn the loss of such an extraordinary talent. The Academy Award nominee was best known for his portrayal of T’Challa / Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, as well as Levee Green in “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”.
Since his passing, the star has received numerous prestigious awards posthumously, finally being recognised for his outstanding contributions to the entertainment industry. It has now been confirmed that he will receive yet another honour: a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Yesterday (Wednesday, 12 November), the official Hollywood Walk of Fame website announced that Chadwick Boseman will receive a star posthumously on the iconic landmark, located in the Hollywood district of Los Angeles, California. According to the statement, the actor will be honoured in the Motion Pictures category, with the ceremony, which will also be livestreamed, scheduled to take place on 20th November (Thursday).
Billboard reported that Black Panther director Ryan Coogler and Academy Award winner Viola Davis, who starred alongside Chadwick Boseman in his final film, “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”, are set to attend and deliver speeches at the event. The late star’s widow, Simone Ledward-Boseman, will accept the honour on his behalf.
“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is deeply honoured to celebrate Chadwick Boseman’s extraordinary legacy with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His powerful performances and enduring impact both on and off screen continue to inspire generations around the world,” Ana Martinez, Hollywood Walk of Fame producer, said in a statement.
Chadwick Boseman made his acting debut in 1997, performing on stage in the play “Rhyme Deferred”, for which he also served as playwright. He transitioned to onscreen acting with his first TV role in “All My Children” in 2003, before making his film debut in “The Express: The Ernie Davis Story” in 2008. After starring in his breakout role as Jackie Robinson in “42”, he went on to leave a lasting impact on the industry and will now be immortalised on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
