It has never been a better time to be an ACG (animation, comics and games) fan in Malaysia, with events and pop-ups taking place in the Klang Valley almost every month. Adding to the excitement, LaLaport BBCC is launching a new hotspot for ACG fans!
The LaLaport ACG Base is opening its doors on 10th October 2025 (Friday). The area located at Level 2 of the Bukit Bintang mall is a dedicated IP zone featuring merchandise stores, themed cafes and event spaces. This new zone is part of the mall’s ongoing expansion plans, following the opening of the Mitsui Outlet Park.
Two of the most anticipated openings at the new LaLaport ACG Base are the permanent Animate Kuala Lumpur store and the first Animate Cafe in Malaysia. After a successful run with their first Malaysian pop-up, Animate announced that it’s opening a permanent location, alongside its cafe brand, which offers exclusive collaborations with popular anime and manga franchises.
Of course, other exciting launches are happening at LaLaport ACG Base, including the K+ by Kadokawa Gempak Starz store, Mori Mory cafe and the first Dimensions Poptown outlet in Malaysia.
