Let’s be honest, no one actually checks their food before they bite into them. But, this local lady might start doublechecking her oatmeal in the future, especially after she recently found a nasty surprise in it.

A 40-year-old lady had been enjoying her bowl of instant oatmeal when she bit into a razor hidden in the food. Needless to say, she immediately made a complaint to the company. To her dissatisfaction, there has been no action from them since!

According to Sin Chew Daily, this lady recently bought a bag of mixed instant oatmeal from a supermarket. On 22nd November, she decided to make a bowl of oatmeal for herself around 7pm for dinner. However, her easygoing meal soon turned sour when she came across a pointed surprise.

“I was halfway through the bowl when I suddenly discovered there was a “hard object” in my mouth (from the oatmeal). When I took it out of my mouth, it turned out to be a (razor) blade,” she told Sin Chew Daily. “I’m just glad I didn’t swallow it and that the blade didn’t cut my tongue.” From the footage shown, she appeared to be 1cm of a razor blade.

The lady immediately took a video of the blade for evidence and reported the incident to the oatmeal company’s Facebook page. They responded to her the following day, asking her to upload details of her purchase for their investigation. However, as of 24th November, she claimed she had yet to hear back from them. “I have no idea how the matter is being handled,” she stated.

The affected customer made it clear that she wasn’t ruling out the possibility this was an individual case, nor did she intend to make a big deal out of it. However, she opined that the company’s manner of handling the issue is unacceptable. She also hopes to warn others of the issue.

Well, it’s certainly an unfortunate event, but we’re glad the lady was not injured by the razor in the oatmeal. We sincerely hope the oatmeal company will get back to her soon to settle the issue.
