#klia2: AirAsia Group CEO Tony Fernandes Tweets Picture Of Flood In Airport

Oh dear, the issues with our Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (klia2) just keep coming, it seems!

A couple of hours ago, AirAsia group CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes posted an image of a section of the klia2 terminal covered in a puddle of water. It went up on Tony Fernandes’ personal Twitter account, captioned, “Flood in klia2. Hmm”

In the image, travelers can be seen walking cautiously across the puddle, trying to avoid the flooded area. The spot was cordoned off by a “Caution Wet Floor” yellow signage.

Tony Fernandes’ post has since been retweeted over 800 times (as at time of writing). It has also garnered some criticism from netizens on the state of klia2.

Some have called out Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) for incompetence and poor maintenance while others brought back recent “memories” of the airport, saying that something which cost RM4 billion to build shouldn’t be riddled with so many problems.

This is, of course, not the first time that klia2 or MAHB has come under fire for poor management. In July this year, AirAsia had complained that the airport was sinking and just a year ago, there was a similiar flooding incident but at klia2’s apron. MAHB had denied it at that time, claiming that it was just a puddle which formed after a heavy rainfall.

Meanwhile, MAHB has since responded to Tony Fernandes’ tweet, saying that the “flooding” was due to gutter clogging and that it has since been rectified:

Dear @tonyfernandes, the wet floor at the skybridge due to gutter clogging has been rectified. #klia2 pic.twitter.com/nCjfkoXPTr
